Hello!!! I'm here and its amazing!!
The flight was all fine, seems years ago now! I watched the sun rise at about 3.30am (uk time) and got here and got my visa and found David and off we went in his little old minibus thing.
And Nairobi.. what can i say?! 'Do you have many roundabouts in england? We have to go round 6!' he said.. and i was like umm ok... But.. these were roundabout controlled (not very efficiently) by the police because 'most of the traffic lights are not working'. So there were massve queus for each one and people came and tried to sell you everything from fire extinguishers to american flags (?) to soft toys... though the only thing i saw sold was a newspaper.
But it was when we got out of Nairobi... i cant even begin to describe it think you would have had to be somewhere like this to have any idea. It is SO different. The only thing the same are the clouds.
Just all these shacks which are shops and hair salons (there seemed to be loads) and all these people and a goat and donkey wagons and piled high pull carts (even on the main road in nairobi) and piled high bikes. And the first white person i saw was a little old lady with white curly hair driving out of the Brackenhurst Conference centre when we finally got there.
And then we went to the house, its amazing! Pretty big, with the most gorgeous varanda with such big comfy chairs! And its so warm! Perfect temperature with a nice breeze.
And theres loads more i could say but i wont. I visited this babies home and this home for disabled girls briefly. The babies were so cute! But yeah! Its all good here in Africa! Cant believe im here! And there are nice people too =) but i shall write more soon... =)
